How We Help You Release Music You're Truly Proud Of

The challenges we help you avoid

You want to release professional-level music that stacks up against the other Folk artists, but you’re overwhelmed by the technicalities of doing so.

You’ve tried doing everything yourself but quickly realized that without decades of experience, the results were mediocre. No one should have to settle for demo-quality material!

Maybe you’re asking yourself, what studio should I book? Which players should I hire? How do I know it will sound good in the end? What if I suck?

This is why we created a full-service production package for people like you.

How we help you get what you want

We eliminate all the technical hurdles when it comes to recording and mixing - this is all done for you by professionals. You just need to record your parts, which we will guide you through.

We’ll help you make a great-sounding record that will resonate with you, your audience, and the music industry in general.

What You Get

If you want a beautifully produced, sonically competitive song that (a) you love and (b) will help you gain recognition and clout, then book a free one-on-one call to see if we’re the right fit for you.

Most musical artists have the same general goals - a sustainable music career, and the respect and admiration of music fans (and other musicians). Why put out material you have to apologize for? Our production services will allow you to put your best foot forward!

There are other benefits as well. Since we’ll be doing most of the heavy lifting for you, that will free up your time to focus on other aspects of your career - promotion, live shows, and even writing your next great song. You’ll also gain valuable experience from working with professionals in the studio. And, you can continue to release music of a consistently high quality, which helps to build your fanbase and attract industry attention.

The 3 Phases of Your Song Production

PRE-PRODUCTION

In this discovery and planning phase, we work with you to find the right vibe and sound for your song.

  • You’ll walk away with the vision and direction for your song after a 1-hour onboarding call. Together, we’ll nail down the vibe and how you want to make your listeners feel.
  • To focus the vibe and feel of the production, we’ll create a playlist or “mood board” together (Spotify, YouTube, etc.) of stylistic references that evoke the feeling we’re going for.
  • One of the big questions when producing a song is, “what will the final product sound like?” To give you that peace of mind that your song will sound how you want it to sound, we’ll deliver a fleshed-out demo recording based on your ideas and direction. This “first draft” will allow us to zero in on the vibe and the specific instruments and parts we’ll be recording for the final version. At this point, we can discuss and make any changes or revisions to the general direction of the song.

PHASE 2

PRODUCTION

In this phase, we hire the musicians, book the studio, and record the song.

  • You will feel supported and confident in your vocal performance because we will produce the vocal session and be there with you every step of the way, whether in person or at a remote studio.
  • You’ll record your instrument (if applicable) - same as above.
  • You won’t have to worry about selecting, scheduling, and hiring musicians and booking a studio, because we’ll handle the logistics for you.
  • To keep everyone on the same page, we’ll create a clear, concise chord chart for the session musicians to follow.
  • You’ll get the satisfaction of hearing pro musicians playing your song when we record the “keeper takes” with the session musicians.
  • You’ll get a rough mix of the song for review after the tracking phase is completed.

PHASE 3

POST-PRODUCTION

In this phase, we edit, mix and master the song.

Feel confident that your song matches your vision with our feedback and revision process

  • You can rest easy that your song will sound its absolute best - we’ll edit and tune tracks as needed, mix the song, and handle revisions.
  • No need to worry about choosing and booking a mastering engineer - we will handle that for you.
  • Walk away with a finished, final master of your song, ready to release.
  • You’ll also have access to stems and alternate versions (ex. instrumental, a cappella, show mix), if needed.

Why Our Alternative Method is Right for You

Personalized song production is the key to attaining clout and perceived value in the music industry

You’re a unique and talented artist. Are you really going to be happy releasing generic, run-of-the-mill recordings, with underwhelming audio quality?

Sub-par recordings, unfortunately, give your songs an amateurish feel that can be hard to overcome. Even listeners who are not particularly music-savvy will be able to hear that something is off, though they may not be able to tell you what it is. All they’ll remember is that they didn’t particularly like it. That puts you in a compromised position.

To paraphrase a common saying, “you’re only as good as your last single.” It’s particularly true in the music industry, where attention spans are short and everyone is on to the next latest, greatest thing quickly. When people hear your song, you want them to perk up and say, “wow, this sounds really good,” rather than the alternative - the song not connecting with the listener at all.

Perceived value is a huge consideration in the music industry. For example, have you ever looked at a poster for a music festival and wondered why certain artists are listed in huge fonts, while many more are listed in tiny, hard-to-read type? Well, the reason is perceived value.

Typically the large-font acts have more clout, more success, have been touring and recording for longer (maybe) - but they may not actually be any more musically talented than the small-font groups. The trick is to convince people that you’re a large-font artist! And the best way to do that is to consistently release professionally produced, high-quality material.

Stand out from other folk/Americana artists

I'm in the business of helping talented folk/Americana artists reach their maximum potential with great-sounding recordings.

I don’t work with groups outside my main genres. Instead, I choose clients for whom I can provide a truly transformative recording experience.

Why is this important? Within every genre, there are traditions and expectations. You can choose to work within those boundaries or go your own way, but it is definitely important to understand them. As someone who has worked in the folk/Americana realm for decades (and actually plays many of the folk instruments) I have developed deep instincts for what works and what doesn’t.

Why I’m Different from the Average Producer

You will feel heard because I value communication.
You will work with a producer who understands your genre and style. I offer this package to folk/Americana artists and bands because I know the genre extremely well. I’m not a heavy metal guy trying to make folk records (don’t laugh, it happens a lot)!
You won’t have to worry about mediocrity because I don’t half-ass stuff. If I commit to a project, I want it to be awesome, and I will go above and beyond to make that happen.
You can feel confidence in the quality of your recording because I work with vetted, proven providers (session musicians, studios, and mastering engineers).
You will stand out from other folk/Americana artists because I always aim to preserve the artist’s vision and highlight what is unique and different about them.
You will capture your best possible performance - as a trained singer myself, I understand vocal production and excel at getting the best performances out of singers. One of my clients called me a “patient perfectionist” after a vocal session.
You will consistently release high-quality material. My production clients tend to return again and again, year after year, which leads to a continuum of excellent releases.
You can do this all without traveling far from home. I can work fully remotely, which can streamline things. Working together in person is also an option, if local.
You will have fun and feel comfortable because I always try to keep the process lighthearted and fun. It’s music, after all - let’s not take ourselves too seriously :-)

"I’ve worked with Bryan since 2007, at first as a producer and recording engineer and then as a player in my band. He is extremely talented in both fields. His ear for arrangement is tasteful and unique. Being a multi-instrumentalist, he brings a lot to the table as both a session and live player. His vocal harmony work is also stellar. I envision working with Bryan for the rest of my career!"
